Ernesto Solo
Ernesto was born in Venezuela on December 2 1969: Under the mango trees,
where his toes were washed by the Caribbean sea, his time spent reading
Sartre with his father, watching Buñel's films on his own, and painting
next to his mother. His love for film, theater and other medias was a
process of survival and understanding people. At the aged of 17, Ernesto
entered college, where he studied 4 years of Communication. While in
college, he started to get involved in theater and film: Theater with
the national company and film with the most important directors and
producers in Venezuela, where he also had the opportunity to work in TV.
After 7 years of work with the national independent filmmakers -
learning the process of workshops, editing, lighting, writing - he
decided to complete his own first film titled PILLOS. The film won a
public selection in Venezuela for: Best Art Direction and Best
Cinematography. His film was invited to be screened in Brazil at the
annual festival of Short Films and was also shown in Overhausen, Germany
and Huelva, Spain. In 1997, after a big economical depression and an
invitation to join the school of film in France Le Femis for four month,
Ernesto decided to stop in New York for vacation. After the first week,
he loved the city so much that he decided to stay. He finished his
college education in one of the many CUNY institution - graduating Sumac
Lauded. He was also asked to join LAByrinth Theater Company, where he
began to collaborate in main-stage productions to bring multi-media
elements to the stage as well as to write. In the meantime, he was
beginning to work more in films in the states - primarily in production
design (Commercials: Advil, Sears, Coca-Cola, and others; Short Films:
The Fish, Vista a la Otra Orilla, others and Features films: Brother to
Brother,When Will I Be Loved by James Toback, Jailbait by Brett Leonard
and The Motel by Mike Kang) while continuing to write plays and
screenplays, which he ultimately plans to shoot.
Maurice Wingfield
Maurice
spent hundreds of hours in the pottery studio his mother built in their
home. Studying the principals of draftsmanship and life drawing under
his father, he was introduced to the tools needed to give form to idea.
The addition of an IBM PC clone to the Wingfield family studio redefined
what an art education was to entail. Living and working in New York
since October 2001 has provided an education to compliment the art
training he received from his parents. Storyboarding and drawing comics
gives him the opportunity to tell stories with the pictures in his head.
Maurice is working on several projects coming to a head in 2004. Tru
Warriors has existed since 1996. Its grown into a comic book series, a
video game, and a inhabited world of fiction. Maurice is looking forward
to telling these stories with the collective talents of A Bow & 3
Arrows.
